World Environment Day logos, symbols, and colours

Human eyes are more sensitive to light with a wavelength of approximately 555 nm, which corresponds to a green colour. Human rod cells are more sensitive to the wavelength of green. Green colours represent nature, it is the symbol of growth, balance, spring, rebirth, prosperity, freshness, safety, harmony, fertility, emotion, and much more which helps to refresh our mind.
Our eyes have three types of photoreceptor cells called cones, which contain photographic pigments, which are designed to detect wavelengths. Together, the cones work to communicate to the brain the colours we see. During the day, our eyes can more easily capture green light.
The word “Environment” is always represented by the green colour, the colour of nature. Blue and green colours are the dominant colour of the earth. Blue represent water and green represent nature/ greenery.

Therefore, all the Environment logos are prepared with the combination of green and blue colours.
